IT help for common queries

This page will give you answers to the most common questions about using myUNSW and refer you to some other useful resources.

Login to myUNSW

  1. Go to myUNSW.  
  2. Enter your zID in the User ID field and your password in the Password field. 
  3. Click the Sign On button in the top right-hand corner. 

Your zID is the number on your Student ID card.

Your password is the password you use to access most major systems at UNSW such as email, myUNSW, Moodle, and the UniWide wireless network. 

Change your password

  1. Go to UNSW Identity Manager.
  2. Select Change My Password
  3. Enter your zID in the User ID field and your password in the Password field.  
  4. Click Log In.  
  5. When the Welcome to UNSW Identity Manager Self-Service page displays, click the Change Password button.  
  6. When the Change Password window displays, enter your new password in the New Password and Confirm Password fields, then click Change Password. 

Reset forgotten password

  1. Go to UNSW Identity Manager.  
  2. Select I Forgot My Password.  
  3. When the Identify User page displays, answer the questions displayed. (You created these questions and answers when you first set up your password.)  
  4. Click the Login button.  
  5. When the Change Password window displays, enter your new password in the New Password and Confirm Password fields.  
  6. Click the Change Password button. 

Is your password locked?

You need to contact the IT Service Centre if your password is locked.

Delete cookies to fix problems with myUNSW

If you’re having problems with myUNSW, deleting cookies may help.  For example, if your enrolment appointment does not open when you select Update your Enrolment, you may need to delete cookies from your web browser to allow myUNSW to refresh. If deleting your cookies doesn’t solve your problem, you may need to use a different web browser to access your myUNSW account. Follow these instructions to delete cookies.
